I feel that a very important part of the movie is the use of symbolism, different themes and perspectives in the movie. Without the many different symbols, themes, and perspectives used the movie never would have given off the same effect as it did, and never would have been such a successful film.
The director thought very hard about these as well as many other issues to make the movie such a hit. The use of symbolism is present throughout the entire duration of the film. A very main them I believe is tied into a use of symbolism. That is the use of the color red everywhere. In every scene that I can recollect the color red has appeared in either the background, or in the main part of the screen as someone's clothing. The use of red is also very present when a ghostly presence is around.
Thus, red is used to symbolize the presence of a ghostly figure or perhaps death. The use of red is evident everywhere in the movie, and without a doubt is a very important theme as well as symbol throughout the movie. Also, the symbolism of cold throughout the the sixth sense essay definitely portrays the idea death and ghosts as well as does the use of the color red.
Lastly, the light and dark imagery that is used is absolutely significant to the plot as well as to the underlying themes in the film.
